We are a sports horse stud in Nottinghamshire
with a herd of quality Trakehner and warmblood
mares.
We use the very best Trakehner/warmblood
competition stallions for our mares, selected
from studs and competition yards all over
the UK. Our aim is to make a small but significant
contribution to British breeding, by using proven competition bloodlines
from a selection of the best warmblood breeds.
All our broodmares are carefully selected
for their pedigrees, temperaments, comformation
and competition history. Our best mares are
pink-papered, branded and graded with their
appropriate breed society.
Lucy has a Bachelor of Science degree in
Equine Studies, a National Certificate in
Horse Management and a National Diploma in
Horse Business Studies. She also has various
BHS exams, riding and road safety qualifications
and has taught children and adults to ride
in the UK and in Switzerland. She has worked
in two Olympic dressage yards near Zurich,
Switzerland, for riders Doris and Daniel
Ramseier, where she rode Grand Prix dressage
horses every day.
Besides from horse riding Lucy loves swimming,
running and cycling and has recently taken
up triathlons. She raced in four sprint triathlons
during 2008 and one Olympic distance triathlon
and ranked highly amongst her age category.

Foals are available at weaning but can be
secured by a deposit after birth. Details
of our pregnant broodmares can be found on
the saxelby broodmares page.
Once viewed, a foal/horse can be secured
by a 10% deposit. Unless otherwise arranged,
the buyer then has seven days to collect
the animal or arrange delivery (unless paying
a deposit to secure foal until weaning).
Payment must be made in full in cash or cleared
funds before the horse is taken away.
If we are aware that a horse has a problem,
vice or fault, we are careful to point it
out at the outset. To avoid doubt or possible
misunderstandings, we summarise what we have
said about our foals/ horses in writing on
the bill of sale and ask buyers to sign to
confirm this.
